Position Overview
We’re looking for someone who has a passion for working with a wide range of technologies and looking to gain knowledge and experience with development in a professional environment. Ideal candidates have a penchant for working on a wide range of projects and using their web development skills to create things they can be proud of. No previous professional web development experience is necessarily required, though general development experience is desirable.
This position is mainly aimed at people who have some experience and wish to hone their skills in a collaborative, team-based environment. You’ll need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Additionally, you’ll need to be comfortable communicating with clients and members of the wider company.
You will work with a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to:
- CMS platforms such as Shopify, WordPress, Contentful.
- Frontend frameworks such as React, Gatsby.
- PHP frameworks such as Laravel.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Web Developer, you will primarily focus on picking up new skills and honing existing ones while working on a wide range of internal and client facing projects. Some of the key aspects of the role include:
- Working closely with other team members on new and existing projects, both internal and external.
- Continuously learning new technologies and staying up to date with existing ones.
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code that doesn’t sacrifice legibility and incorporates best practices.
- Working with clients to deliver the best possible service.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science or similar (such as coding bootcamp or completed a Web Design apprenticeship).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn new technologies, either as part of the job or via online training courses (costs covered and courses allowed in company time).
- Keen interest and enthusiasm. Passion to learn and improve.
- Ability to work as part of a team and professionally with clients.
Nice to Haves (not Essential)
- Experience in building websites or web applications.
- Workplace experience.
- Knowledge of CMSs, frontend and backend frameworks, i.e. WordPress, React, Laravel, etc.
